In the fields of construction and industry, Ceramic fiber board is widely used as an efficient insulation material in various high-temperature environments. However, some users have found that fiberboard produces smoke during use. In response to this issue, this article will delve into the causes of smoke production in fiberboards to help users better understand and use this material.
In the process of using ceramic fiberboard with organic binder, once its temperature exceeds the tolerance temperature of the binder (usually 200 ℃), the organic binder will undergo high-temperature oxidation reaction. During this process, organic binders will release smoke like substances. These substances rapidly oxidize at high temperatures, forming oxides and releasing heat. As the oxidation process progresses, the original white ceramic fiberboard will gradually turn brown.
The smoke generated during the use of ceramic fiber board is a normal phenomenon caused by its unique physical properties. Users do not need to worry too much during use, just follow the relevant precautions for operation and maintenance.
If the heating process require no smoke generated, ceramic fiber board with inorganic binder is recommended, with high purity silica binder and same temperature classification type, also is obviously suitable for CNC machined custom engineering shapes.
