Ceramic fiber blown wool and spun wool are two common types of refractory fiber in the ceramic fiber market, defined according to different production processes. Apply in different insulation fields according to different characteristics.
1. The diameter of fiber filaments: spun fibers are thicker, generally 3.0-5.0 μ m, and blown fibers are generally 2.0-3.0 μ m;
2. The length of fiber filaments: spun fibers are longer, generally 150-250mm, and blown fibers are generally 100-200mm;
3. Thermal conductivity: Spray blown cotton is superior to spun cotton due to its finer fibers;
4. Tensile and flexural strength: spun cotton is superior to blown cotton due to its thicker fibers;
Different applications of two types of ceramic fiber blown wool and spun wool
1. Application of making ceramic fiber modules: The spun fiber blanket is superior to the sprayed fiber blanket due to its thicker and longer fibers. During the folding process of the module, the sprayed fiber blanket is prone to breakage and tearing, while the spun fiber blanket can be folded very tightly and not easily damaged. The quality of the module directly affects the quality of the furnace lining;
2. Vertical layer laying application of large blankets such as boiler insulation: Due to the thick and long fibers, the spinning blanket has better tensile strength and durability, making it superior to the spray blanket;
3. The application of ceramic fiber textiles: The spun fibers are thick, long, and have excellent spinnability, making ceramic fiber spun cotton a specialized raw material for producing ceramic fiber textiles (fabrics, belts, ropes, pipes, etc.);
4. Application of ceramic fiber board, felt, and lightweight insulation castables: Spray blown cotton fibers are short, thin, and have low thermal conductivity, making them more suitable for dispersion and crushing. They are used as wet process products such as ceramic fiber paper and ceramic fiber board, as well as ceramic fiber castables.
