What Is Ceramic Fiber Wool?

Ceramic fiber wool is a kind of high-efficiency thermal insulation material, which is formed by melting high-purity clay clinker, alumina powder, silica powder, chromium sand and other raw materials at high temperature in an industrial electric furnace to form a fluid, and then using compressed air spraying or spun wire throwing machine to form a fiber, which is formed by wool collection in a wool collector. Ceramic fiber wool has the following characteristics:
1. Light weight and high strength: The density of ceramic fiber wool is usually between 260-3100kg/m3, which is more than 75% lighter than the lightweight heat-insulating brick lining and 90%-95% lighter than the lightweight castable lining. At the same time, it has high tensile strength and compressive strength.
2. Low thermal conductivity: the thermal conductivity of ceramic fiber wool is about 1/8 of that of lightweight clay bricks, 1/10 of the lightweight heat-resistant lining (castable), and the heat capacity filling is only about 1/10 of the lightweight heat-insulating lining and lightweight castable lining, which greatly reduces the amount of energy loss and has a significant energy-saving heat storage effect.
3. High refractoriness: The use temperature of ceramic fiber wool is usually between 1000-1600 °C, and it has good fire resistance.

4. Oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance: ceramic fiber wool is not easy to be oxidized for a long time in a neutral and oxidizing atmosphere, and has good corrosion resistance to most acids and alkalis.
5. Good flexibility: Ceramic fiber wool has good flexibility and elasticity, which is easy to cut and install.
6. Sound insulation performance: Ceramic fiber wool also has good sound insulation performance, which can reduce noise pollution.
Ceramic fiber wool is widely used in industrial kilns, boiler lining, backing thermal insulation, refractory insulation, thermal insulation of thermal equipment such as steam engines and gas engines, flexible thermal insulation materials for high-temperature pipelines, high-temperature gaskets, high-temperature filtration, and thermal reaction.
Thermal insulation of applications, fire prevention of various industrial equipment, thermal insulation and fire protection of electrical components, thermal insulation and thermal insulation materials of incineration equipment, raw materials of modules, folding blocks and veneer blocks, thermal insulation and thermal insulation of investment castings and other fields.
